Gov. AbdulRazaq Has Destroyed Local Government Administration In Kwara

Comrade Musa Idris Buko, a respected development expert and social critic from Baruten Local Government Area, has accused Kwara Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of destroying local government administration in Kwara State.

He said posterity would not forgive the Kwara Governor for overseeing the continued plundering of the local government councils in the last six years.

Buko, reputed for being a fearless advocate of grassroots development, stated this in a commentary in a popular WhatsApp group, the Kwara Commission in reaction to a story of rain havoc in Ipee town, in Ifelodun LGA of Kwara state. He expressed his dismay at the apparent neglect and deterioration of local government affairs, emphasizing the detrimental impact on grassroots communities.

He also lamented the administration's alleged lack of transparency and accountability, despite increased revenues, which he claimed has led to a state of melancholic destruction within the LGAs.

Buko condemned the use of Transition Implementation Committees (TICs) as "illegal lackeys" to oversee local government affairs, describing it as a derogatory title unworthy of pride. He criticized the governor for allowing LGAs to be "raped" for over four years under the TIC system, highlighting the need for immediate action to restore democratic governance and accountability at the grassroots level.

While acknowledging the governor's swift response to community needs in other areas, Buko urged Governor AbdulRazaq to show equal concern and urgency in addressing the alleged undemocratic destruction of LGAs in Kwara State. He implored the governor to refrain from acting like an "Emperor" and to heed conscientious and patriotic calls for reform.
