'Aso-Oke, Dada Pottery Could Be Turned To Multimillion Dollars Industries' - Dr. Yinka Ajia

Renowned economist and public policy expert, Dr. Yinka Ajia has urged the leadership of community development associations to push for the transformation of traditional vocations of Ilorin into multimillion-dollar industries.

Speaking in Ilorin during the ongoing 2-day capacity building retreat organized by the Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District Mallam Saliu Mustapha, Dr. Ajia said that vocations such as Aso-Oke and Dada pottery hold great potential and could be turned into lucrative industries that would offer job opportunities for the people of Kwara Central Senatorial District.

Dr. Ajia further advised the government at all levels to support the efforts of community leaders in transforming traditional vocations into job creating industries to stem the tide of unemployment in the country.

He added that if well harnessed, these vocations could generate significant revenue for the government and create a massive number of jobs for the people.

"Aso-Oke and Dada pottery are only two of the many traditional vocations that can be turned into multimillion-dollar industries if the government can provide the much-needed support," he said.

Dr. Ajia also noted that with the advent of modern technology and innovation, the traditional vocations could be given a modern touch, thereby increasing the market demand and financial prospects.

He urged the people of Kwara Central Senatorial District to embrace entrepreneurship, expand their businesses and explore available opportunities in their vocations.

In conclusion, Dr. Ajia emphasized the need for the government to prioritize the creation of sustainable industries that will provide a conducive environment for businesses to thrive and create job opportunities for the teeming population.

With Dr. Ajia's advice, it is hoped that the government at all levels and community leaders in Kwara Central will work collaboratively towards the transformation of traditional vocations into job creating industries.
