Tanke Flyover: ENetSuD Releases Breakdown Of Contract Sum


ENetSuD is in possession of the Bill of Engineering Measurement and Evaluation (BEME) for the construction of the single carriage way flyover bridge at pipeline Tanke Junction in Ilorin, Kwara State. The project is one of those under execution by the AbdulRahman-led Kwara State Government (KWSG).

The contract of the project was awarded on 13th December, 2021 to City International Dimensions.

ENetSuD is currently subjecting the BEME to critical examination, after which on-site measurement and quantification will be done to determine if the works done by the contractor commensurate with the contract sum spent by the government on the project.

In this preliminary release, we are reporting the breakdown of the contract sum. The overall contract sum of the project is Two Billion, Four Hundred and Ten Million, Three Hundred and Thirty-Eight Thousand, Seven Hundred naira (₦ 2,410,338,700). The contract sum was derived from the addition of many components grouped into five bills.

Bills 1 to 4 are for the road and retaining wall, while bill 5 is for the bridge itself.

Bill 1 is for the general provisions whose costs are either lump sum or provisional sums. This will cost fifty million naira. We will break this down later and raise questions on it accordingly.

Bill 2 is for site clearing and earthworks. It will cost One Hundred and Fifty-Million, Four Hundred and Five Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty naira (₦150,405,750). We will ascertain the value for this soon.

Bill 3 is for culverts, drains, and retaining walls. This will cost Eight Hundred and Ninety-One Million, Five Hundred and Seventy-Six Thousand, Two Hundred and Fifteen naira (₦891,576,215) naira.

Bill 4 is for pavement and surfacing. It will cost Four Hundred and Six Million, Four Hundred and Sixty-Four Thousand, Nine Hundred and Seventy-Four naira (₦ 406,464,974)

Bill 5 is for the bridge itself. It will cost Six Hundred and Thirty-Six Million, Nine Hundred and Fifty-Eight Thousand, Three Hundred and Thirty-Two naira (₦ 636,958,332).

A whooping sum of One Hundred and Six Million, Seven Hundred and Seventy Thousand, Two Hundred and Sixty-Two naira (₦106,770,262) was allocated to be spent on contingencies. 

Another sum of One Hundred and Sixty-Eight Million, One Hundred and Sixty-Three Thousand, One Hundred and Sixty-Four naira (₦ 168,163,164) will be used to pay Value-Added Tax (VAT) on the project.

Further details about each of the bills will be released later by ENetSuD.
