It was gathered that the crash was caused by wrongful overtaking and speed violations.

According to the report, three vehicles were involved in the crash as seven male adults, one female adult and two female children lost their lives.

A statement by the Federal Road Safety Corps on Friday said the incident happened around 6.30pm and involved a total number of 17 persons.

According to the first information report of the FRSC, the three vehicles involved in the accident were one petroleum tanker, a Toyota Corolla driven by one Oladokun Waheed, and a Volkswagen Sharon minibus.

Speaking on the incident, the FRSC Sector Commander, Frederick Ogidan, said a total sum of N60,750 was recovered from the scene of the crash.
