Eid-el-Kabir 2023: Gobir Felicitates With Muslim Faithful
As Muslims around the world celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, Alhaji Waziri Yakubu Gobir has sent his felicitations to the Muslim faithful in Kwara State and across the country.
In a statement released on Wednesday Alhaji Gobir extended his warm wishes to the entire Ilorin Emirate, including the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari (Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs) and the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Shaykh (Dr) Muhammad Bashir Saliu.
Waziri Gobir, who is also the Madawaki of Ilorin Emirate and Waziri'n Hausa, expressed his joy at the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, which he described as a time for reflection, sacrifice, and love. He encouraged the Muslim faithful to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice and love that is associated with the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir.
"As we celebrate this year's Eid-el-Kabir festival, I urge all Muslims to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice, love, and unity, which the festival represents. Let us show love and kindness to one another, especially to the less privileged in the society."
Furthermore, Alhaji Gobir also called on Muslims to use the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir to pray for peace, unity, and progress in the country. He noted that the country is currently facing a lot of challenges and that it is only through prayers and collective efforts that these challenges can be overcome.
Waziri concluded his statement by urging the Muslim faithful to continue to live in harmony with people of other faiths and to always promote peace and unity in their communities.
