"Kwara State Holds Ecosystem Engagement Event to Discuss Adoption of Nigeria Startup Act"
Ilorin, Kwara State - Entrepreneurs, investors, and government officials gathered at the Ecosystem Engagement Event to discuss the adoption of the Nigeria Startup Act in Kwara State. The event, which was held in Ilorin, brought together stakeholders from various sectors to deliberate on the opportunities and challenges of implementing the Startup Act in the state.
The Nigeria Startup Act is a legislative framework aimed at promoting the growth of startups and small businesses in the country. The act provides for the establishment of startup hubs, tax incentives, and other measures to support the development of the startup ecosystem. The adoption of the Startup Act in Kwara State is expected to stimulate innovation and drive economic growth in the state.
In his opening remarks, the convener of the event and the Managing Director, of Ilorin Innovation Hub, Temi Kolawole, highlighted the importance of the Startup Act in creating a conducive environment for startups and small businesses to thrive in Kwara State. And that the adoption of the act would also create opportunities for entrepreneurs and attract investments into the state.
According to him the main purpose of Digital Ecosystem Management is to move people from the informal sector into the formal sector by creating a work frame to bring in technology and innovation for all businesses to use in their activities.
The keynote address was delivered by the Commissioner for Business innovation and Technology in Kwara State, Mr. Ibrahim Akaje, who reiterated the government's commitment to creating an enabling environment for startups and small businesses in the state. He noted that the adoption of the Startup Act was a step in the right direction toward achieving this goal.
The State adoption leads of the Nigerian startup act and Event facilitator, Mrs.Tracy Okoro, explained the opportunities of implementing the Startup Act in Kwara State. She also emphasized the need for collaboration among stakeholders to ensure the success of the initiative.
In her closing remarks, the Chairperson of the Kwara State Inland Revenue Service, Engr. Mrs. Shade Omoniyi, expressed optimism about the potential of the Startup Act to transform the state's economy. She also urged all stakeholders to work together with the Ease of Doing Business Council for a successful implementation.
The Ecosystem Engagement Event on the adoption of the Nigeria Startup Act in Kwara State was a resounding success, providing a platform for stakeholders to discuss and deliberate on the opportunities and challenges of implementing the act in the state. It is expected that the adoption of the Startup Act will stimulate innovation, promote entrepreneurship, and drive economic growth in Kwara State.
