YPP Debunks Rumors Support For Yaman, PDP In Kwara South

By Adedayo Said

The Kwara State Young Progressives Party, YPP has dissociated itself from the claims that the party structure across the Kwara south Senatorial District is supporting the PDP Governorship candidate Alhaji Abdullahi Shuaib Yaman in March 11 election.

Kwara YPP Chairman, Chief Dele Ogunbayo in a statement issued on Tuesday, described the action of Amb. Olanrewaju Abraham's endorsement for the People's Democratic Party Governorship candidate, Alhaji Abdullahi Shuaib Yaman in the name of the YPP in Kwara South as a show of shame.

The statement reads; As far as democracy is concerned, anyone is free to pitch his/her tents with whoever pleases him/her but using or dragging our party name in the mud won't be accepted. Abraham has the right to support whoever he wants but should not use YPP to negotiate.

Ogunbayo said: "The man in question who is declaring Support for the PDP in Kwara South, contested for Senator under the same platform of YPP which by his unpatriotic character and his unseriousness made the party declare support for the SDP candidate on the eve of the National Assembly election.

"I want to state categorically that Amb. Olanrewaju Abraham is on his own in this show of shame and he has no power to declare support for whosoever in the name of the YPP. I therefore call on the PDP or whoever has traded with him to note that the YPP structure across the Kwara south Senatorial District is intact and formidable and that it is not in the control of the imposter to negotiate on behalf of the party.

"I called on the general public, our supporters, and our party faithful to disregard any press conference by this imposter who claimed to have the YPP structure across the Kwara South Senatorial District. YPP is not supporting any candidate other than her Candidate Alhaji Waziri Yakubu Gobir for the Governorship race"
