Hundreds Of APC, SDP, PDP, Accord Party Members Joins YPP In Omu-Aran

Hundreds of people from the various political parties today joined the Young Progressives Party in Omu-Aran, Irepodun local government area of Kwara State.
Defectors who were received in their numbers by some YPP leaders at Okeki Compound in Omu-Aran were former members of the All Progressives Congress APC, the People’s Democratic Party PDP, the Social Democratic Party SDP and Accord Party.
The APC defectors were led by Women Coordinator Mrs Maria Joseph, SDP by Hajia Adijat Oladosu, PDP by Mr. Samuel Ogini and that of Accord Party were led by former Accord Party Campaign DG Mr. Segun Ajoruko.
Hajia Adijat noted that she is leading her team to the Young Progressives Party to consolidate and form a stronger team to enthrone leaders that would serve the people.
A former APC women group leader Mrs Maria Joseph said the YPP is the only credible alternative party that has deep interest of the people at the grassroots. She applauds the YPP gubernatorial candidate Waziri Gobir for his kind gesture to people of Kwara through his foundation. She expressed confidence that his works would spread across the nooks and crannies of Kwara, when elected.
In the same vein, a former Campaign Director General of the Accord Party in the constituency Mr. Segun Ajoruko said as the election draws closer, the coast becomes clearer and people can see that the House of Reps candidate of the YPP Charles Folayan is the one with deep commitment and connections to the grassroots, hence, he deserves the support of all people in the constituency. He noted that there is no need to waste time in other political parties.
Receiving the defectors, the Chairman of the Young Progressives Party in Irepodun local government accompanied by the YPP ward chairmen of Omu-Aran ward 1 Prince Abidemi Olanrewaju Gbakanlado assured the defectors of fair treatment. He urged them to reach out to their friends remaining in other political parties to join the moving train.
The House of Reps candidate of the Young Progressives Party for Irepodun/Isin/Ekiti/Oke-Ero federal constituency Charles Olufemi Folayan welcomes the new members to the party. He noted that the agenda of the YPP is to deliver the dividends of democracy to the common people at the grassroots through service.
Asoju Odo said he is out for service and would show the people how a political office should be used properly to solve many challenges facing the people, when elected. He said, no political office holders should satisfy his or her personal needs without addressing the various challenges facing the people.
The House of Assembly Candidate of Irepodun local government Hajia Fatima Akande also applauded the defectors for taking a bold step. She noted that Irepodun local government, the constituency and Kwara State at large deserves better leadership and good governance. She urged the people to approach the election with determination to end the era of bad politicians no matter the party they are.
