By Adedayo Said

The YPP House of Reps Candidate for the Irepodun/Isin/Ekiti/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency Charles Olufemi Folayan took his campaign tour to some wards in Ekiti local government area of Kwara State yesterday. He also paid courtesy visit to the various traditional rulers in the communities.

Speaking to his party faithfuls who came out en mass to receive him, Charles Folayan lamented on the situation of the various communities which he said have been neglected by the government. He attributed the challenges of many of the communities to the lack of effective local government system.

He assured the people that he would join other members of the National Assembly to ensure that the local governments are empowered to function properly for the benefit of the people at the grassroots, when elected.

“I’m always saddened whenever I visit most communities around here, it’s like the government don’t know we are part and parcel of Kwara. The federal government has also failed on the infrastructure of this area. The way and manner the state government is handling the local government made things worse.

“By the special grace of God, I would join other members of the House of Representatives to ensure that local governments are well empowered through the federal government for the benefit of the communities at the grassroots.

Asoju Odo further assured the people that he is prepared and determined to work assiduously to create jobs, alleviate poverty and attract every opportunity to the constituency and restore the lost glory of the various communities in Ekiti local government and the constituency in general.

“Let me assure you that I’m well prepared and ready to work assiduously to create jobs, alleviate poverty and attract every opportunities in the federal government to our constituency and restore the lost glory of our various communities in Ekiti land and the entire constituency.
