I Am Ready To Chart A New Course For The Prosperity Of Kwara - Gobir

By Adedayo Said

It was a special moment for the people of Moro when they sighted the admirable Waziri Yakubu Gobir.

It was a special moment for the residents yearning for a prosperous state where the citizens’ welfare is given priority, a moment of renewing people’s hope in building a state they all desire, where all the people’s wills align with  government reality.

While it is obvious that the Kwara state ship has not had a smooth sailing for the years, the Young Progressives Party (YPP) gubernatorial candidate has expressed his commitments towards charting a new course for the prosperity of the state. Waziri Yakubu Gobir made this commitment during his statewide tour to Kanbi, Asomu, Malete and Shao parts of Moro Local Government, Kwara State.

The tour was done in company of his running mate Hon. Bolujoko George, other party stakeholders, and candidates as well elder statesmen such as Alhaji I. A Jimoh.

During the tour, Aláànú Mẹ̀kúnnù as he’s fondly called, made a stop at the Hausa community in Kanbi where he paid homage to the Serkin Hausawa, Alhaji Dan Ango. The community expressed their gratitude for such regards given to them by Gobir and his entourage during the visit.

Asomu was another place of call during the tour. Gobir engaged the traditional chiefs under the leadership of Alangua Asomu, Alhaji Usman Ayub, Islamic religious leaders led by Alhaji Isiaq Saburah, Chief Imam Asomu and the teeming supporters who welcomed him.

Gobir noted that he’s running to ensure the well-being of all Kwarans and eliminate the deadly waves tossing away the state and citizens’ prosperity. “Kwara state is blessed and the citizens ought not to suffer in anyway. It’s pathetic that the present government cannot deliver on the mandate of improving the well being of the people hence the need to chart a new course.“ He said.

He added that “we all want something good, we want our situation to change but prayer alone cannot do this. We need to get our PVCs and vote for the candidate with demonstrated capacity to ensure our well-being.”

Alhaji I.A Jimoh, an elder statesman from Moro Local Government also mentioned that Gobir is different from other politicians as he’s more concerned about the people’s welfare - from young to old, male and female. “He’s God sent,” he added.

The Gobir campaign train also stormed Malete and was received with tremendous excitement by residents who reckon with the philanthropic gestures of Waziri Gobir. During the tour, he paid homage to the traditional title holders under the leadership of Alhaji Ibrahim Belko, the 18th District Head of Malete. Gobir also engaged party stakeholders and supporters in Malete, and appreciated them for their resilience in ensuring a better Kwara is birthed.

Aláànú Mèkúnù noted that the YPP government will empower the people with the sustainable agricultural development training programmes combined with financial support.

According to him, lands in Moro local government are so fertile and as such, agriculture will definitely be a key focus in our government. Our agenda is to provide food security, create employment, reduce poverty and enhance the quality of life for farmers and Kwarans at large.

The Madawaki of Ilorin also paid homage to the Ohoro of Shao, Oba (Dr) Bamidele Alabi Adegbite Oyerinde III. In his reaction, the king appreciated the visit and mentioned that he is much acquainted with the generous YPP gubernatorial candidate and his demonstrated capacity in ensuring a better Kwara if elected into office.
