YPP Governorship Candidate, Gobir Takes Campaign To Asa, Ilorin East

The Young Progressives Party (YPP) Governorship candidate in Kwara State, Alhaji Yakubu Gobir has visited several communities in Asa and Ilorin East local governments to canvass for votes ahead 2023 general elections.

Gobir, in continuation of his statewide campaign tour which started two weeks ago stormed Iponrin where he observed his juma'at prayer and engaged stakeholders on themes of good governance and grassroots participation.

He later visited Alapado of Apado to pay homage and lay out his plans for Kwara State when elected, particularly in the area of rural development, which according to him, has been grossly neglected.
The traditional ruler in his remarks appreciated Gobir for visiting his palace, noting the role of traditional institutions in furthering development.

Clerics from the Christian Association Chairman (CAN) in the community, Pastor S. O Adeoti and Chief Imam of Apado Central Mosque prayed for Gobir's success at next year's polls.

The visit comes after a memorable 2-day tour to Asa local government, which saw the GOBIR 2023 train move through Alapa, Balla, Afon, Ogbondoroko, Aboto and other communities.

Over 200 defectors from the ruling APC in Asa defected to the YPP, burning brooms and pledging their service to the party's victory at the polls. They were received by YPP State Chairman, Chief Dele Ogunbayo who advised them to display sincerity and dedication in order to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
