Towoju Begins Public Enlightenment TV Programme

...Says Minimum Wage Not For Cheap Political Gains

A new television programme, "Face-to-face with Towoju", anchored by the Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Hon.
Olabode George Towoju, premiered yesterday on the state-owned television station, KwaraTv.

According to Towoju, the sponsored television programme is designed to interface with the general public on completed, ongoing, new projects and sundry issues related to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's adminstration.

The Communications Commissioner said the programme which is broadcast every Wednesday from 3:00pm - 3:30pm will feature guests drawn from all walks of life, adding that the programme allows call-in from the public.

During the first episode of the programme, the invited guest, a seasoned broadcaster, Alhaji Fatai Adeniyi Dan Kazeem, engaged Towoju on a wide array of issues ranging from the minimum wage to ongoing road projects and Osun gubernatorial election.

In his response, Towoju submitted that the minimum wage is "not meant to score cheap political points as some people think."

He assured that the minimum wage has come to stay and it will be sustained by the present administration in the state.

Reacting to the question on whether the state government was jittery by the outcome of the recently conducted Osun State Governorship election, Towoju asserted that the Governor AbdulRazaq "is not losing sleep over it as the situation in the two states are different and incomparable given that Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq won the last election by a wide margin."

Speaking on ongoing road constructions, especially the construction of the overhead bridge at Tanke, the Commissioner declared Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as a visionary leader, as " he is embarking on sustainable development projects for both the present and future generations to enjoy."
