The Comprehenisive Health Centre at Esie in Irepodun Local Government Area played host to several medical and surgical patients on the 18th and 19th of July.
Over a thousand people came from different parts of the state to benefit from a fully serviced medical outreach put together by the Nigeria Medical Association, Kwara state Chapter and supported by the APC candidate to the State House of Assembly from Irepodun constituency; Hon. Olushola Odetundun.
Several categories of ailments were clinically attended to with a good number of surgeries conducted. The head of the medical team, Dr Adedayo Aderibigbe observed that health care is one of the most essential amenities to humans but that poverty has plunged many to untimely death as a result of inability to afford care.
He was full of praise for the Doctors who volunteered their services for the outreach and sincerely appreciated the philanthropic gesture of the facilitator, Hon. Shola Odetundun who supported this year’s outreach.
The outreach, which included surgical operations on herniorhaphies, hydroceles, lipoma, cysts, etc were rendered to beneficiaries without considering geographical boundaries.
Elder Sunday Oyeniyi, a native of Esie and a beneficiary of the program prayed that those behind the project will never lack good health and will continually progress in life.
Hon, Shola Odetundun enjoined citizens to always take good care of their health and eat food that will not endanger their well-being.
Among the people present at the program were APC women leaders across the local government, party chairmen from various wards and other community leaders not excluding clergymen.
