'Kwara South Has Many Untapped Potentials' -Governor AbdulRazaq

The Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has said Kwara South has several untapped potentials.

Governor AbdulRazaq made the statement on Tuesday when he hosted the leaders of decampees from across the seven (7) Local Government Areas of Kwara South led by Otunba Olabode Oyedepo (better known as Deway) at Government House, Ilorin.

In his words, the Governor said, "Kwara South should have been the engine room of the state in terms of the enterprise of the people, the natural and human resources of the area.

"Kwara South is quite resourceful and many of the tourists sites and universities are concentrated in the area.

"Kwara South needs a government that will work with the people and that is why we have embarked on some projects such as the Osi- Obbo Aiyegunle road, the Osi Campus of Kwara State University (KWASU) among others. These projects when completed will advance socio-economic activities in the area."

While welcoming the leaders of the decampees, AbdulRazaq said, " we are excited that you deem it fit to join us in the project to turn Kwara around.

"Since 1967 that Kwara State was created, it is so unfortunate that we are miles apart when compared to other states created in the same year."

Earlier, Otunba Oyedepo introduced the leaders of the decampees to the Governor adding that several other decampees across Kwara South will be presented to His Excellency at a ceremony scheduled to hold in July.
