YPP Primaries: Folayan, Olanrewaju, Adepoju, Others Wins Reps, Senate Tickets


A frontline youth leader and former Technical Assistant in the Presidency on Youth and Students Affairs Charles Olufemi Folayan also know as "Asoju Odo" has emerged as the House of Representatives candidate of the Young Progressives Party YPP for Irepodun/Isin/Ekiti/Oke-Ero federal constituency in Kwara State. 

Folayan who was the immediate past Chairman of the YPP in Kwara State was affirmed as the consesus candidate of the party at the YPP Kwara south primary elections conducted by the primary committee headed by the North Central Chairman of the YPP Mallam Mujtabar Kusherki  today at Idofian in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Speaking shortly after the exercise, Folayan expressed satisfaction with the process. He said his mandate is for the economic and political liberation of his people, particularly the youth and women. 

"I return all glory to God for this success, this mandate is for the people, it's a step forward for the economic and political liberation of the youth and women of our constituency and I thank everyone used by God in one way or the other to make this happen. I would not disappoint them. 

"It's evident that young people across political parties are united in the search for quality representation and good governance. Unfortunately, many political parties had schemed out many vibrant and resourceful young people from becoming candidates. The good news is that, I'm here to represent their struggle and aspirations. My success in this race would boost theirs in the future.

The Ekan-Meje born young politician promised to provide quality representation for his constituents at the national assembly and to focus on legislations and activities that would aid poverty alleivation, youth development and effective local government administrative system, when elected.
 

"I started as a community youth leader from Ekan to Oke-Ero, Kwara and Nigeria. I'm determined to build solid team of young resourceful people among various youth and student groups in my constituency, build partnership across board and deploy my contacts across the world to attract development to my constituency.  

"Our constituency consist of many towns and villages with little or no government presence. The youths are largely uneducated and unemployed and the problems facing the various communities including insecurity became complicated because of the lack of local government autonomy. Now is time for pragmatic approach to solving these challenges and I'm sure God would continue to use me and my team for the betterment of the society. 

He enjoined all true progressive politicians in Kwara State to join forces with the YPP, saying the party is the only viable alternative platform in Kwara State with formidable structure across the 193 wards that can dislodge the old guards that have constantly disappoint the people.  

"It's needless for the true progressives to dissipate our energy, since we are out to rescue the people. YPP is the only viable alternative platform in Kwara today with structures across the 193 wards. You know that no party can win election without solid structure, that's why I'm urging others to join forces with us to deliver our people from those who have constantly use different political platforms and faces to manipulate them for their selfish gains. 

In the same vein, a Nigerian Businessman and Philanthropist Olanrewaju Abraham also emerged as the YPP candidate for the Kwara South Senatorial Seat. 

Ambassador Abraham who is also a United Nations Ambassador was born to Ifelodun and Isin local government parents. He is the Chairman of the Association of Nigerian Exporters, Kwara State. 

Also a former SDP stalwart from Oyun local government Hon. Pillar Ayodeji Adepoju also emerged as the House of Representatives candidate for the Offa/Oyun/Ifelodun federal constituency after defeating his rival Mr. Olamilekan Olaosebikan.
