We Would Sustain Omotosho's Legacy - Charles Folayan
The YPP House of Reps Candidate for Irepodun/Isin/Ekiti/Oke-Ero federal constituency Charles Olufemi Folayan has declared that he would join hands with others to sustain Omotosho's Legacy.
Delivering speech at "A Night of Tribute" organised by the Rotary International in honour of Late Dr. Mike Omotosho, Asoju Odo described Omotosure as a rare breed of leader who lived his life for the service to the people of Nigeria and Africa in general.
He narrated Omotosho's political journey, how he approached the Obbo Aiyegunle born African humanitarian legend to join politics in 2014. He said, his coming into Kwara politics changed the dynamics of politics and introduced development approach to grassroot engagement and political campaigns.
"He took me and my colleagues some months to convince Dr. Mike who I personally named "Omotosure" to join politics, he refused initially because he does not want to mix his humanitarian works with politics but we insisted because we believed he would make a good public servant. After his acceptance, Omotosure deployed resources to Kwara and ran a people oriented campaign which touched many lives directly. He was an Honourable Member and a Governor that Kwara never had because the political environment as at then was not friendly to new breeds.
Charles said, Omotosho always prioritized the welfare of the people especially the needy and always meddle for impact in the lives of the youth. He said though Omotosho is late now but his legacy can never die. He promised to join hands with other followers and lovers of Omotosho to sustain his legacies in Kwara and Nigeria as a whole.
