Man Remanded For Allegedly Stabbing 2 Persons In Ilorin


Magistrate Abraheem Bello of an Ilorin Magistrates’ Court on Friday ordered the remand of a man, Habeeb Abdulganiyu, in Oke-Kura Correctional Centre, Ilorin, for allegedly stabbing two persons to death.

The decessed were simply identified as Lukman and Kudus.

Police arraigned the defendant on a one-count charge of Culpable Homicide Contrary to Section 221 of Penal Code Law.

He thereafter adjourned the matter till June 28 for further mention.

Earlier, the Prosecuting Police, Insp. Funsho Zacheaus, told the court that Abdulganiyu stabbed the victims for separating him from fighting his friend, Abdullateef Abdulrazaq, over a certain sum of money.

Zacheaus stated that Abdulganiyu went home to get a knife and could not find his friend when he got to the fighting scene at Adifa Area, Ilorin.

The defendant, however, stabbed Lukman and Kudus whom he found at the scene on the neck leading to their death.

The prosecutor urged the court to remand the defendant in Correctional Centre pending completion of investigation.
