Police Arrest Ibadan-Based Broadcaster, Oriyomi Hamzat

Report reaching KWARAREPORTERS News has confirmed that the founder of Agidigbo FM, Oriyomi Hamzat, has been arrested.

Oriyomi, a popular broadcaster in Ibadan and owner of Agidigbo Radio station, was arrested by officials of the Federal Intelligence Bureau of the Nigerian Police Force on Thursday morning.

In a live stream video shared on his platform by a team member, it was revealed that Oriyomi was first invited by the Oyo state branch of the FIB before he was handed over to the Abuja men this morning.

It was gathered that he was transferred immediately to Abuja, the nation’s capital.

As at press time, details regarding the arrest are sketchy, but multiple sources claimed it was related to his reportage of the death of Timothy Adegoke, a master’s student of the Obafemi Awolowo University.

Recall Adedoyin, the Chief defendant in the case involving Timothy Adegoke’s case, had earlier this month petitioned the police to prosecute Oriyomi, Babagbade Imo, Woibile, and IJKFMB Music yard for alleged interference with judicial proceedings and for cyberbullying him.

Adedoyin, in his letter through his lawyer, Mr. Ahmed Aderoju, complained of criminal defamation, false alarm, incitement, false publication, cyberstalking, and criminal threat against him.
