Gov Abdulrazak's Aide Leads Rally To Replace Sen. Oloriegbe With Seriki

Contest for the party tickets of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the governorship and Kwara Central Senatorial District heated up on Tuesday after a major rally was held to promote the duo Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazak, and Yahaya Seriki, an aspiring candidate for the Senate.

Organised by Musibau Esinrogunjo, special assistant to the Governor on grassroots mobilisation and Seriki, even though in absentia, the rally took the heart of Ilorin by storm as massive crowds trekked kilometers from Pakata to Adewole sensitising the public on the need to return Governor Abdulrazak as governor and vote Seriki as senator for Kwara Senatorial District.

There are currently no clear contestant for the party ticket as far as the governorship slot is concerned in APC, Kwara State.

The Kwara Central Senatorial District is currently occupied by Yahaya Oloriegbe of APC and a strong backer of Governor Abdulrazak who has so far, a clearcut and visible imprint at the Senate in representational capacity for Kwara.

Esinrogunjo, however wouldn't say he wants a change of guard for the Senate slot.

"I do not want to mention names or make allegations against anybody, but the clear choice of the youth in this constituency is Seriki, he is the best choice to represent Kwara Central in the Senate," he explained.

He stated that Seriki has done so much in philanthropy.

On the choice of the governor, Esinrogunjo said that governor is due for reelection.

The rally, tagged 'Youth O' Clock' rallied support for Governor Abdulrazak.

"We are here in solidarity and support for his Excellency Gov Abdulrazak Abdulrahaman.

"We are also here for Amb. Yahaya Seriki.the governor has transformed Kwara.

"This gathering is also calling on Seriki to tell him that we are fully in support of his aspiration to run for Senate on behalf of the Kwara Central.

"He has never held any political appointment in Kwara but in terms of philantropic gesture, he has been wonderful," he said.
