Kwara Govt Distributes Instructional Materials To Schools In The State

The Kwara state Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has flagged off another distribution of instructional materials to schools across the sixteen local government areas of Kwara state.

At the flag off ceremony today, Governor AbdulRazaq noted that the distribution of instructional materials and tools is meant to strengthen public basic education system in Kwara State.

Represented by his Deputy, Mr Kayode Alabi, Governor AbdulRazaq recalled that this gesture is the third of its kind since the inception of this administration.

‘This underscores our commitment to give solid foundation to the Kwara child to find their 4feet through life’ he said. He added that ‘we are providing these multimillion naira instructional materials to further ease access to qualitative basic education’.

The Governor added that this administration is poised to ensure that teachers and indeed all workers in the state are paid as and when due, while promotion arrears are being sorted one after the other.

Governor AbdulRazaq commended partners, donor agencies and key players in the education sector.

In his address, executive chairman of Kwara SUBEB, Professor Shehu Adaramaja described the ceremony as historic. He recalled that Kwara was blacklisted for inability to meet certain demands under the UBEC scheme not until after the payment of counterpart funds under the government of AbdulRahman.

Some of the instructional materials include rubber mattresses, computer systems, sport kits for all sixteen local government areas of the state, 10 mobile classrooms among other materials.
