Kwara Central 2023: Yahaya Seriki Declares Senatorial Ambition
Ambassador Yahaya Seriki Gambari, one of the popular Stalwart of All Progressive Congress (APC) has declared his intention to run for Kwara Central Senatorial seat ahead of 2023 general elections.
Supporters of Governor AbdulRazaq AbdulRaman engaged loyalists of the APC chieftain, on Wednesday in a shouting match at the Ilorin International Airport.
What started in 2019 as a voters’ experiment of 'O to ge' revolution with the politics of hope is now a phenomenon, with Yahaya Seriki acquiring almost a mythical image as an agent of change in kwara state.
He retains, within his personality, shades of different caste and religious identities that still influence voter behaviour. But most importantly, he is seen as someone who will deliver and act in good faith.
Speaking to journalists in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, on the sidelines of a rousing welcome accorded to him by a crowd, he expressed his intention to represent Kwara Central Senatorial district comes 2023.
Amb Seriki said: “This is a clarion call from the Good people of Kwara Central, which I will never turn down. I’m overwhelmed with the love shown to me, I will never forget today.”
Recalled that Seriki served as Director General AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq Campaign Organization for Kwara Central during 2019 general elections. He enjoys wide followership across party lines, especially among the youth community.
