See How Sound Sultan Was Buried In New Jersey (Photos)
The remains of popular Nigerian musician, Olanrewaju Abdul-Ganiu Fasasi, also known as Sound Sultan, were interred on Sunday in Brooklyn, New Jersey, United States of America on Sunday.
The funeral of the musician, who died in the US on Saturday from Angioimmunoblastic T-cell Lymphoma, was carried out according to Islamic rites.
Only close family friends were allowed to attend the event.
His wife, Chichi Morah, wept uncontrollably at the funeral.
Sound Sultan’s death was announced via a statement in the early hours of Sunday by Dr. Kayode Fasasi for the family.
The statement reads:
“Olanrewaju Abdul-Ganiu Fasasi,“November 27, 1976 – July, 11, 2021.“It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of multitalented veteran singer rapper, songwriter, Olanrewaju Fasasi aka SoundSultan.“He passed away at the age of 44, following a hard fought battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell Lymphoma.“He is survived by his wife, three children and his siblings.“We his family will appreciate his utmost, privacy as we come with gripe with this tragic loss.”
