NUJ Election: Ahmed 'Lanre Abdullateef Emerges Kwara Council Chairman


Ahmed ‘Lanre Abdullateef of Herald Newspaper has emerged as the new chairman Kwara council of Nigerian Union of Journalists.

Ahmed ‘Lanre Abdullateef who polled 85 out 205 valid votes cast during the NUJ Kwara Council election held on Saturday at the Press Centre, Ilorin.

Abdullahi Dare Akogun of Sobi FM who emerged runner up garnered 75 votes, Fadeyi Adeolu polled 31 votes while the incumbent Chairman, Umar Abdulwahab of Blueprint Newspaper had 16votes.

The new chairman will serve three-year tenure.
