SPONSORED: Biography and Burial Arrangement Details Of Late Mrs Abigail Omotinuke Odetundun


Blessed is the memory of the righteous, and forever the memory of MRS ABIGAIL OMOTINUKE ODETUNDUN will be blessed and revered in our hearts.

Mrs. Odetundun was born in 1950 to the family of late Prophet & Mrs J.O. Omokeye at Igbaja, in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State. As a woman who would impact knowledge in several young lives, she went in search of knowledge herself. First, in 1959, she attended the ECWA Demonstration school, Igbaja, where she obtained her first school leaving certificate. She soon furthered her education, studying at the ILORIN TEACHERS COLLEGE (ITC), now called SHEIK ABDULKADIR COLLEGE. She soon earned the rights to teach in any part of Nigeria, earning the Grade II Teachers Certificate. This was not going to be the end for her as she went ahead to bag an N.C.E. certificate in 1985. In spite of her experience, she added a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the prestigious AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY, ZARIA.

Mrs. Odetundun was a dedicated teacher. She was committed to the upbringing of the next generation, and in her long teaching career, she was an exemplary and devoted educator. She had the opportunity to teach in schools like Bishop Smith Memorial Primary School, United Primary School, Ilorin and Odore Government Secondary School. She was headmistresses in several schools, including; Kwara Polytechnic Primary School, C& S Primary School, and St. John’s Primary School. She also had at the honour to be the pioneer principal of St. John’s Junior Secondary School. Her love for education did not end till she retired as a deputy director in the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board.
Like with every aspect of her life, Mrs. Odetundun was committed to her faith. 

As a devoted Christian, she was Iya Egbe Akorin of St. Stephens Anglican Church, Agbonda. She also had the opportunity to serve as a member of the UMCATC Choir, the Women’s Fellowship, and Agbonda St. Stephen’s Church Band of Grace.

Her service was not only to God, she served the society as a special marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps.

Mrs. Odetundun was married to an illustrious son of Agbonda, PRINCE EZEKIEL NIYI ODETUNDUN and they are blessed with wonderful children and grandchildren.

In gratitude to God and celebration of this beautiful, the funeral arrangement will go thus.

THE FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS;

- Christian Wake Keep will hold on 27th of August, 2020 at No. 36, Agba Road, G.R.A., Ilorin by 4 P.M.

- A commendation service will be held on the 28th of August, 2020 at UMCATC Church, Opposite ASCO filling station, Ilorin by 8 A.M.

- A funeral service will then follow at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Agbonda by 11 A.M. on the same day. Reception follows immediately.

Mrs. Odetundun may be absent from the body but we know she is present with the Lord. Even though we will miss her, we know we will see her again.
