KWSG Stops Illegal Deductions In SUBEB
Kwara State Government directed that illegal deductions from the State's Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) staff salaries be stopped with immediate effect.
This is aimed at blocking the conduit pipe through which state's fund are being syphoned and put a stop to corruption and sharp practices in government service.
The Honorable Commissioner for Communications, Alhaji Muritala Olarewaju dropped this hint in Ilorin today, while briefing the press in his office.
Alhaji Olarewaju said, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's action was a continued effort at ensuring that sanity returns to KWSUBEB which has hitherto been seen as a conduit pipe of corruption to some corrupt civil servants.
Olarewaju however said the exercise exclude statutory deductions such as tax-Pay As You Earn (PAYE), Water rates, National Housing Fund (NHF) and bank loan of staff who recently migrated from Microfinance to Commercial Banks as directed by government.
The Commissioner described the development as a clear indication of this administration's zero tolerance for corruption as well as Government's commitment to the well-being of civil servants in the state.
While enjoining SUBEB staff and civil servants at large to have faith in Governor AbdulRazaq-led government, the Commissioner however warned that Governor's directive on the unauthorized deductions must be strictly complied with, adding that any act of sabotage will be adequately dealt with, within the ambit of law.
