20-years-Old Man Arraigns For Rape, Murder In Kwara

A magistrate court in Kwara State precided over by Magistrate Monisola Kamsom, yesterday has ordered the remand of a twenty years old herder, Nasiru Sarki, who allegedly raped a female cattle rearer, one Maimuna Mohammed to death.

According to a Police Report revealed that the defendant (Sarki) approached the deceased in the bush while she was grazing the cattle, pushed her to the ground, undressed her and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.

"The deceased's cattle that returned home without the rearer was said to have made the community raised a search team who later found Maimuna lifeless body in the bush."

Sarki was however arrested through the deceased phone he made away with after committing the crime.

According to Sobi FM's reporter, Kayode Adeoti, reports that Magistrate Kamson, declined to take defendant's plea for lack of jurisdiction while the matter was adjourned to thirteen of next month.
