Faridat Dankaka's Appointment As Chairman of FCC Will Promote Unity And Inclusiveness in Nigeria, Says Engr. Nurudeen Balogun

Hails Governor AbdulRahman for his Inspiring Leadership...

The recent appointment of Hajia Faridat Dankaka as Chairman, Federal Character Commission (FCC) by President Muhammadu Buhari, has been described as a significant development that would further promote fairness, equity and inclusiveness that would enhance cohesion and overall growth in Nigeria.

This, according to Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun, a frontline philanthropist and seasoned Administrator in Kwara State, is based on her track record as a dignified, detribalised personality and technocrat who has over the years promoted and ensured progressive, peaceful and harmonious co-existence among Nigerians.

In a congratulatory message he personally signed on April 28, 2020 and issued to the press, Engr. Balogun, who is the Chairman of a public advocacy for good governance organisation known as Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun Contact Team (ENACT), added that the choice of Hajia (Dr.) Dankaka as the Head of the FCC, "is well-deserved and will significantly strengthen the Commission to effectively discharge its objectives. Apart from the pedigree of Dr. Dankaka as an achiever, her wealth of experience and track record in the private and public sectors over the years place her in a very strong position to drive the mandate of the FCC to fruition in line with its Constitutional role and in alignment with the desire of President Buhari to build a country that offers a sense of belonging and works for all Nigerians".

Until her appointment, Hajia (Dr.) Dankaka, a Kwara State indigene from Offa in the southern part of the State, was the President of the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA).

While extolling the virtues of the new FCC Chairman, Engr. Balogun further stated that, "apart from being my sister, friend and associate, Hajia (Dr.) Dankaka is a good hearted woman, whose love for community and human development are visible and unprecedented".

In addition, the ENACT Chairman, who was a Senatorial aspirant in Kwara South in the 2019 election, described Hajia (Dr.) Dankaka as a thorough-bred and highly distinguished personality, just as he expressed optimism that, "she will live up to expectation and under her able leadership, Nigerians will feel the impact of the FCC in a more robust and inclusive manner. Indeed, she is one of Nigeria's shining stars".

Engr. Balogun also used the opportunity to congratulate another Kwara State indigene, Hon. James Kolo (who hails from Patigi in Kwara North), on his appointment as a Commissioner of the FCC. He noted that, "Hon. Kolo has very well distinguished himself in service to humanity, Kwara and Nigeria in general. I believe that FCC will benefit immensely from his wealth of experience".

The All Progressive Congress (APC) stalwart equally showered encomium on the Governor of Kwara State, His Excellency, Alhaji AbdulRazak AbdulRahman, for his dynamism and purposeful leadership in the State. According to him, "Kwara State, under our able Governor, has continued to witness positive turnarounds by waxing strong in all spheres of governance. The State is in safe hands and on the path towards sustainable development across all sectors. I have no doubt that our people will continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy going by the new spirit the Governor and his team have brought to bear in the conduct of affairs".

The frontline philanthropist and administrator congratulated Governor AbdulRahman and the entire people of the State on the appointment of Hajia (Dr.) Dankaka and Hon. Kolo, stressing that, "I want to further appreciate our Governor for the uncommon statesmanship he provided in the facilitation of these appointments. You will recall that the last time the position of Chairman of FCC came to Kwara, it went to the same zone the then Governor hailed from. This time, Governor AbdulRahman has demonstrated his love for all Kwarans on the basis of equity, fairness and inclusiveness. These clearly shows that Kwara is united and has distinguished personalities in abundance who if given the opportunity will deliver excellently".

While urging Kwarans and Nigerians to remain steadfast and live in harmony, Engr. Balogun, stated that, "my advice to Hajia (Dr.) Dankaka and Hon. Kolo is to exhibit the spirit of federal character in discharge of their duties and make Kwara proud". He prayed for God's guidance and protection on the duo as they get set to discharge the national assignment before them.
