COVID-19: Gani Abolarin, Raji Rasaq Donate Foodstuffs And Sanitation Items To Ekiti People


The duo of the lawmaker representing Ekiti Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Abolarin Ganiyu Gabriel and the Kwara State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Raji Rasaq, have presented some foodstuffs and sanitation items to the people of the constituency.

The food relief materials, which included bags of 50kg rice and 10kg semovita were presented today, to representatives from the 10 wards, which made up the Constituency, in compliance with the social distancing order by the state government, which forbids any gathering of persons more than 15.

Other materials presented to allievate the suffering and inconvenience brought about by the 'Stay at home' order of the state government, are packaged hand wash soaps, hand sanitisers, among others.

While presenting the materials, the Kwara State commissioner for Health and one of the donors, Dr. Raji Rasaq expressed the gratitude of the state government to the people of Ekiti Constituency for their continual support to the programmes and activities of the state government, especially, the inconvenience, the 'stay at home order', has brought on the people.

He implored the constituents to abide by the instructions on how to keep regular hygiene to keep safe from coronavirus and other infectious diseases.

He went further to instruct the people to quickly notify the State Emergency team on any case of suspected infections with symptoms of fever, cough or difficulty breathing within their localities, to call NCDC immediately on 080097000010.

While commenting, the lawmaker representing Ekiti and one of the donor, admonished the constituents to continued to support the state government as led by Malam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq.

He made mention of some of the ongoing projects from the state government in the Local Government Area to include the ongoing construction work of the Osi township road, the reconstruction, rehabilitation and upgrading of the Health centres in Obbo-Ile and Obbo Aiyegunle, the rehabilitation and repair of Ejiu Electrification project, the grading of Obbo-Aiyegunle road and expected asphaltic work on the same road, the ongoing rehabilitation and reconstruction work on two (2) primary schools in Osi and Isolo-Opin, among others.

He also enjoyed the people to safeguard themselves from the spread of coronavirus by keeping good hygiene.

He advised the wards' representatives to ensure fair and equitable distribution of the relief packages to all constituents in their respective wards.
