Dallas' Defection To APC, Our Stand - ALGON Members

The attention of 15 suspended chairmen of the local government councils in the state has been drawn to an online publication indicating that Comrade Yinka Dallas, the suspended chairman of Ekiti Local Government Area is still in Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Such a story is unfounded and baseless because our resolve to pitch tent with All Progressives Congress (APC) was a collective one in which Yinka Dallas was fully involved.

Though he wasn't present at APC campaign in Patigi but a consent was signed on March 9, 2020 where he personally accepted and signed along with others to defect to APC. (Attached is the Consent Signatures attached to a document in respect of the defection)

The truth of the matter is that we had all unanimously agreed to join APC as far back as November last year. It is worrisome that someone will consent to defection, sign document to that effect and turnaround to start saying something' contrary.

Our presence in Patigi was to openly defect and participate in party campaign ahead of the bye-election held to fill the vacant House of Assembly seat for Patigi Constituency.

We the remaining 15 chairmen dissociate ourselves from the publication of the suspended Chairman of Ekiti local government, Comrade Yinka Ayeni Dallas that he remains a member of the PDP.

He has therefore been advised to cease from dilly-dallying as regards defection to APC by Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) members.
