Fact-finding Mission: Hon. Owolabi, Health Commissioner Visit UITH Oke-Oyi
The Chairman House Committee on Health and environment matters and the member representing Share/Oke-Ode constituency, Hon. Owolabi Olatunde Razaq and Commissioner of Health, Dr. Raji Razaq yesterday visited the facilities of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) in Oke-Oyi.
Hon. Owolabi While speaking with the press during the visit stated that the visit was born out of the masses outcry over the state of the health facilities.
According to him "Our ear is full of all sorts of stories about the state of facilities in this hospital and as we all know that UITH is not under the control of the Kwara State Government but as we all know that it our people that are making use of this facilities and as the Chairman House Committee on Health matters; it is my duties to stand up and investigate what is wrong."
"The reports we got was not encouraging, to the extent i got a call from Her Excellency, Mrs Olufolake Abdulrazaq the wife of the State Governor over the same issue and today we are here to know what is happening and to see if there is a way we can work together to make life easier for our people".
Health committee during the visit was received by the Hospital CMD, Prof. Abdullahi Dasilva Yusuf.
Prof. Abdullahi appreciated the committee for their swift action over the complaints of the health facilities and he debunked the rumours making rounds about the facilities.
Prof. Abdullahi after the brief meeting in his office led the committee round the hospital facilities and he promises to continue to make life more easier for the health facilities user.
