Hon. Owolabi Razaq Meets LG Health HODs, Immunization Officers

The Kwara State House of Assembly member representing Share/Oke-Ode constituency, Hon. Owolabi Razaq on Friday met the Head of Health Departments and Local government Immunization officials from the 16 Local Government Area of Kwara state.

The meeting which was organised by the House Committee on Health and environment matters held at Kwara State house of Assembly to discuss the way forward on immunization in Kwara with the aim of boosting the immune system of children against the deadly disease poliomyelitis in the state.

Hon. Owolabi Razaq in his address as the Chairman Committee of Health and environment, encouraged the officials to be committed and support the collective desire of the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Her Excellency Mrs Olufolake Abdulrazaq in the State to bring healthcare delivery to every Kwarans.

He said: "the Local government Immunization officials should ensure compliance with the laudable cause by performing their duties diligently and rid society of polio disease once and for all because no kid in Kwara State and in the country at large should be crippled or suffer from the polio disease for which vaccines are readily available, free and effective."

He further urged the Local government head of health department to work hand in hand with all relevant government agencies to rekindle the fight against polio in Kwara State until no child is affected with this deadly diseases.

Members of the House present at the meeting includes; Hon. Ambali olatunji Ibrahim, Hon. Gani Abolarin Gabriel, Hon. John Bello Olanrewaju, Hon. Baba Saliu Muhammed and the Executive Secretary Primary Healthcare, Dr Folorunsho.
