Kwara Properties Transfer: KWHA Investigates Saraki


Kwara State House of Assembly has directed its Committee on Land Housing and Urban Development to investigate the alleged transfer of ownership of a 4- bedroom Alimi Lodge to the immediate past Senate President Bukola Saraki.

The resolution of the House was sequel to a matter of general importance raised by member representing Irepodun Constituency, Hon .Omotayo Felix Awodiji, on the ownership of Alimi Lodge on the Floor of the House.

The Speaker, Engr Yakubu Danladi Salihu, while reading the resolutions of the House, explained that the need for the House to investigate the matter became expedient in order to put an end to all forms of abnormality in the state.

Hon Awodiji, had while raising the matter of general public importance, explained that the lodge which was transferred to the former Governor under the state Pension Law for Governors and Deputy Governors,was not transferable as it was meant for the sitting Chief Executive of the state.

Other members who spoke on the Matter, explained that due process was not observed and the alleged sales of the lodge was flagrant disobedience to the due process and that the building constituted security risk to the Government House.

Similarly, the House has also directed its Committee on Health and Environment to investigate accumulation of refuse in some parts Ilorin Metropolis, following a matter of general public importance, raised by member representing Ilorin East Constituency, Hon Jimoh Aliyu Yusuf, on Dangers inherent in Accumulation of Refuse in Ilorin Metropolis .

The Speaker, who emphasized the need for reorientation of the populace, called for the engagement of community leaders in proffering enduring solutions to the problem .
