Unilorite Donates Bore-hole to Kunga Rigizah Community in Plateau State.
As a contribution towards his host community, a corps member, Mr. Abdulazeez Sodiq Olamilekan serving the nation in Plateau state with state code number PL/18C/0850, has provided potable water for Kunga Rigizah Community of Jos-North Local Government of the state by facilitating the construction of a Bore-hole project in the community.
Abdulazeez Sodiq is a First Class Marketing graduate of the University of Ilorin, Ilorin. He is also the Director of Publicity II of Care and Compassion Network, which is a registered charity based non-governmental organization with a mandate to provide help to the needy people and alleviate poverty in Nigeria.
According to him, his reason for executing the project is to improve his emotional well-being through positive feelings and sense of commitment to humanity. He also said that he wishes to turn people's life around and put a lasting smile on their face. He added that the project was funded through donations received from individuals and the major support of one Professor Yushau Balarabe.
In her address, Mrs. Caroline Embu, the State Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps, Plateau State expressed her joy over the laudable project, affirming that Nigeria is for everyone and that is why NYSC has included Community Development Service (CDS) as one of her cardinal programs. She therefore advised, corps members to always strive hard to contribute to any community they find themselves.
The project was commissioned on Wednesday, 24th July, 2019. The event had in attendance prominent persons in Jos Metropolis: His Royal Highness, Yakubu Bala Shiahok (District Head, Rigizah); Professor Yushau Balarabe; Alhaji Abdulrauf Bello (Director Hikmah Schools, Jos); Hon. Ali Shekara (Former Counselor, Ahwol); Dr. Bananda R. Aristarchus (HOD, Department of Marketing, University of Jos), among others.
