Kwara South Movement Felicitates With Kwarans-elect: Tasks Aggrieved Southerners To Embrace Peace

An apolitical group, Kwara South Movement congratulate the incoming governor of Kwara state, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq, his deputy Mr. Kayode Alabi,National Assembly members elect and all the elected members of Kwara State House of Assembly (KWHA) as they prepare to resume office.

It prayed for God’s guidance, protections and wisdom in all their dealings while serving the good people of Kwara State.

The group berated the actions of Kwara South Elders Forum for declaring an open war against the reappointment of Alhaji Lai Mohammed as Honourable Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

It said, "We condemn Kwara South Elders Forum's approach on the ministrial nomination.Though, Alhaji Lai Mohammed may have his shortcomings but we can not shrink our responsibility. Therefore, we believe the Honourable Minister should have been invited and cautioned before any public press conference."

The Movement appealed to all Kwara South leaders and aggrieved Kwara Southerners to sheathe their swords and embrace peace and unity.

Speaking further, the group stressed that, "Alhaji Lai Mohammed should know that power is transient, and Kwara State should be his first priority project".

"Our coming together is a must for everyone at this point, irrespective of political affiliations or socioeconomic stance. This is the right time to sheathe our swords and build our territory together.It said".

As a minister of Federal Republic of Nigeria, "it is not too late for him to make amend as he has the power to facilitate projects,employments and Youths empowerment to Kwara State".

While charging political leaders and other office holders to be accountable and be a good ambassador for justice and peace in the State, Kwara South Movement also implore the traditional rulers to stand up to their responsibilities and be the mouthpiece of their people by communicating the challenges of their communities to the constituted authorities.
