Just In: Saraki Donates Buses To NAKSS, Kwara NANS

In fulfilment of his promise, the Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki on Monday donated two Sienna buses to the National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS) and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Kwara axis.

Saraki had during a town hall meeting last year promised to donate buses to the student bodies.

A former student leader and Special Assistant on Commerce to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, Comrade Olelekan Lawal, aka Automatic presented the vehicles to leadership of the two students bodies in Ilorin on behalf of the Senate President.

Lawal said the presentation of the buses demonstrates Saraki's commitment to the welfare of students in the State, adding that the Senate President placed high premium on human capital development and had always supported the students community.

He noted that the gesture was aimed at easing movement of officials of the two associations and advised their leadership to make judicious use of the buses. Lawal also called on students and youths in the state to continue to support the leadership of Dr Bukola Saraki.

Receiving the vehicle, the NAKSS President, Comrade Musa Mohammed Mancha thanked the Senate President for the kind gesture. He said "despite the numerous requests before him, Saraki deemed it fit to honour the students community by donating two vehicles to us."

Mancha added that Saraki's support has shown that he loves and values the student structure.

Similarly, the Chairman of NANS, Kwara axis, Comrade Olososa Saheed expressed appreciation to the Senate President and pledged the support of the association to his leadership.

Present during the presentation of the vehicles to the leaders of NAKSS and NANS were Comrade Adio Odunjo, Comrade Isa Adulhameed Adangba and Comrade Ibrahim Katum. The Chairperson of the Kwara State Scholarship Board, Barrister Fatimah Yusuf Sheu was also present.

She announced that the scholarship board would soon commence another round of disbursement of bursaries to students in the State.
