Why Kwarans Should Re-elect Buhari By Oyewale Jacob
President Muhammadu Buhari during his campaign visit to Kwara state in February 2015 told mammoth crowd at the rally held in Metropolitan Square, Ilorin that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would focus on those issues that would directly impact people’s lives such as agriculture, job creation, empowerment and economy development among others.
His words: “APC is aware of the high expectations of Nigerians and assure that its government has identified the fundamental problems of corruption, unemployment and insecurity. And with the naira being devalued almost by the day, this means entrepreneurs cannot grow, so we will ensure that the machineries are working, to employ people, to buy essential raw materials and produce goods and services.’’
“The cycle of corruption has done a great damage to the security and economy of this country. The APC is determined to break the vicious cycle of insecurity, unemployment and corruption.’’
Therefore, President Buhari being a man of integrity with good track records introduced policies and programmes that will help his administration put smiles on facing of thousands of kwarans/residents and other Nigerians that voted for him.

Besides, about 20,000 residents of the state have been enlisted to N-power programme and Kwara is one of the states enjoying N5000 monthly Cash Transfer for vulnerable and Home grown feeding programme for school children.
Kwarans have also benefitted from the Administration's programmes, including NPower, TraderMoni all of which seek to address the needs of the poor. recently, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo visited Kwara to launch the TraderMoni scheme. The rousing reception he recieved attests to the popularity of the Administration in Kwara.
President Muhammadu Buhari has further demonstrated his love for Kwara through the appointment of Kwarans into key positions at the federal level. Today, the Honourable Minister of Information and Culture, and a star in the Buhari's Cabinet, Alh. Lai Mohammed is proudly a Kwaran; the Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Mallam Is'haq Modibo Kawu is from Kwara; Nigeria's Ambassadors to Japan and Malaysia, Prof. Mohammed Gana Yisa and Alhaji Nurudeen Mohammed are also from Kwara.
Furthermore, several Kwarans were appointed by the administration of President Buhari as board chairmen and members in different federal government agencies.
