Ahead of the 2019 general elections, the electoral umpire, INEC, has shown signs of getting prepared towards ensuring a hitch free, foolproof arrangement and process. Opportunity
for eligible voters that had not been registered to get captured in the INEC’s data has been provided through the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration exercise.

The Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) is an exercise designed to give room for the registration of citizens who turned 18 years of age after the last registration exercise or those who for one reason or another could not register in the previous exercises.

We however gathered, that INEC has not left any stone unturned in monitoring the ongoing exercise and identifying possible loopholes.

Kwara Reporters learned that an illegal voter registration center has been discovered in Offa, Kwara state. INEC Administrative Secretary, Mr Paul Atser made this known in a statement on Friday.

‘It has come to the notice of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), Kwara state that some unscrupulous persons are carrying out illegal registration of voters in Offa Local Government area’ he stated. The perpetrators of the illegal registration were according to him, using Corel Draw application to change the particulars in a scanned INEC PVC, he also disclosed that a suspect has been arrested by the police and that he is still being interrogated by the security agents.

’The general public is advised to be watchful and ensure that they go to only INEC designated registration centers to be captured for the PVC’ he submitted.
