Herdsman Cut-off Farmer’s Leg In Kwara


A 21 years old Fulani herdsman, Buba Awa has amputated the leg of a farmer in Ijomu-Oro in Irepodun Local government of Kwara state.

The suspect who ran away after he had committed the offense was arrested by men of Police divisional headquarters, Oro, and charged to the magistrate court Oro for causing grievous hurt.

The accused who was said to be looking for his missing cow and asked the farmer who said he did not see any cow, the accused then attacked the farmer and cut his left leg completely, the victim is currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed health facility.

Meanwhile, the Chief Magistrate Court Oro has ordered the accused to be remanded at the Omu-Aran correctional facility, the accused who was not represented was advised by the Court to secure the service of a lawyer at the next adjourned date.

The activities of the criminal herdsmen are on the increase in the environment, especially now that they have been chased away from Ibarapa land in Oyo state.
