Tribunal Sacks Another Kwara Lawmaker

The Election Petition Tribunal has sacked APC lawmaker representing Patigi State Constituency in Kwara State House of Assembly, Ahmed Rufai Adam.

Tribunal sacked Ahmed Rufai Adam over allegations of forged certificate and age falsification.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the Patigi State Constituency Bye Election held on March 14, 2020, Salihu Mohammad Yahaya challenged Rufai’s victory at the tribunal.

PDP and Salihu Mohammad Yahaya reportedly filed petition on five grounds but the three judges agreed to three grounds.

KwaraReporters gathered that the APC lawmaker was sacked on three grounds including certificates forgery, inconsistencies in names and age falsification.

The tribunal therefore declared PDP candidate, Sahihu Mohammed winner of the bye-election.

Recall that Hon Rufai Adam in build to the election denied forging WAEC Certificate.

He made the clarification when featured on a live Nupe program on Albarika FM today 22nd February 2020.

Mr Rufai while explaining, emphasized that it is part of the unwholesome politics that was making round the online news which is absolutely untrue.

He said he wrote NECO and WAEC respectively and categorically stated that he forged no certificate.
