Kwara APC Set For Midterm Party Congress, As CKAYS Prepare To Receive Decampees

An umbrella body of all groups, forums, and associations in All Progressive Congress (APC) Kwara State Chapter which is simply known as Coalition of Kwara APC Young Stakeholders(CKAYS) has commended the Kwara State Governor, Mall Abdulrazaq Abdulrahaman for his magnanimity in leading the process of unity and reconciliation within the state. The group also expressed its heartfelt joy in seeing that Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq led the achievement chart of all APC controlled state in Nigeria.

In a statement made available to this medium by CKAYS Public Relations Officer, Mall. Nasirdeen Abiola,
CKAYS stated that the unity and reconciliatory move by the Governor would allow the state executive committee to properly prepare to receive mass decampees from various political parties who are willing to join our great party because of the superlative performance of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq before the process of party congress commenced.

However, CKAYS believes that, despite the reconciliatory move by the governor and all stakeholders in the party, the only way to resolve the crisis in the party is through a midterm congress, which it says should be conducted as soon as possible.

According to the group, the party Ledger Registers in the state, which is supposed to be in each ward across the 16 local government is nowhere to be found, because it was collected from ward executives immediately after the party primary election in 2019.

“Information going round indicates that those who took the Ledger registers have corrupted it and only a midterm congress can restore members confidence. It said.

CKAYS, therefore, declares that “based on our wide consultation with all-party stakeholders, the party is ready and set for a credible party congress that would usher in a new set of leaders for the party.
