Kwara 2023: I Will Contest For Governor - Hon. Zakari Muhammed
The former Federal Honorable Member who represented Baruten/Kaima Federal Constituency in the 8th Assembly has declared his intention to run for the Kwara State Governorship position in 2023.
During an interview with Moonlight news, he emphasized that he is capable and has all the necessary experience to move the state forward than Governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq.
“for me in 2023 I will contest for the governor of Kwara, power comes from God and he gives it to whoever he wishes at his appropriate time, with God by my side and the support of Kwarans, in 2023 God sparing my life, as long as I am sound, I will contest for the governorship” he said.
He added that Kwaran deserve a better deal than what they are currently having under the administration of AbdulRahaman.
In his words, “having a “school cert” as our governor is a big slap on our faces in Kwara and “this is not the Kwara of our dream”.
The former Federal Honorable Member also added that commissioning culverts, reroof of classrooms, fencing schools, taaring one kilometer of road are projects for local council’s and ministries and should not be for a governor. “It is certainly not what Kwara bargained for”.
He added that with his experience as a former executive member, journalist, criminologist, football administrator, SA, Commissioner and many more, he has what it takes to be the governor of the state though with the support of the people.
“Selling my credentials to the people of Kwara, I believe they will look at it and say, let’s go for a young and vibrant leader for a better Kwara” He said.
