IMTC Trains Kwarans On Broadcast Presentation And Production

A five-day training in Broadcast Presentation and production has just been concluded at the International Media Training Center, Ilorin, Kwara State.

The training was designed to equip intending media professionals with the essentials of broadcasting, particularly on the role of language in Radio programme presentation and news writing.

Participants had the opportunity to interact with practitioners on programmes packaging for a variety of public and private events.

In line with the COVID protocols, participants also had practical sessions on how to use broadcasting to promote government policies and events. 

A number of top public officials drawn from Kwara State Traffic office, KWATMA, FRSC, The Fire service, The police, and NSDC participated in the training.  

During the training some dignitaries were present to lend support for IMTC-ACADEMY for the initiative. Among the dignitaries who were on hand and gave goodwill messages are : the police Kwara command PRO, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, KWARTMA Chief Executive Officer, Alhaji Y.B Bello and the chief Fire Officer, Kwara State Command, Mr Waheed I. Yakub.


The visiting dignitaries commended the convener of the training workshop, Mr Jolaoluwa Afolabi for the efforts. They are of the view that such a workshop should be repeated and sustained because the society is in need of media education to address some prevailing ills in the society such as hate speech and molestation of young female children.

Participants at the workshop were encouraged to put the knowledge they have acquired into practice with diligence and respect for the law and ethics of the profession.
