Am Still In PDP - Comr. Yinka Dallas

Recalled last week a development that received prominent attention in the media and also stood as topic of discussion in the Kwara state political circle was recorded.

The suspended chairmen of the sixteen local government areas of the state were elected on the platform of the PDP but following the change in political equation and the emergence of the APC as ruling party in the state they were left in the lurch.

While rumours of plans by the chairmen to dump the PDP for the APC had been promoted on social media since last year, it eventually left the realms of conjecture as the chairmen joined the ruling APC at one of the campaign rallies held ahead of the by-election held to fill the vacant Patigi house of assembly seat on Saturday.

It was though stated that all the sixteen local government chairmen have decamped to the APC, the suspended Chairman, Ekiti local government, Comrade Yinka Ayeni Dallas said on Monday night that he was not at the campaign rally in Patigi and that he remains a member of the PDP.

Dallas though commended Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his leadership style, he however noted that there has been no plausible reasons to justify decision to dump the PDP for the APC.

‘I want to tell you authoritatively that I was not at Patigi and that there was no reason for me to be there anyway since it was an APC affair.

I’m still a member of Kwara PDP, the APC is even experiencing serious crisis. Let us even assume I want to join the APC how will I go to Patigi to do that? When I do not speak or understand Nupe language. As a grassroots politician even if I want to decamp to any political party I will do that in my Ward which is my base so I remain in the PDP’ he said.
