Kwara 2019: Abdulraham Abdulrasaq Lauds Conduct Of INEC, Security Agencies


Charges Observers to Beam Searchlight on Rural Balloting...

The Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Kwara State, Alh. Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq have louded the conduct of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) and all security agencies thus far in the electioneering process.

Abdulrasaq who spoke through the Deputy Director General of the Campaign, Hon. Yakub Ajanaku while playing host to a team of European Union Election Observer Mission in Nigeria in his ilorin Campaign, on Monday, commended the professional conduct of the electoral umpire, security agencies and all other stakeholders, stressing that if the tempo is sustained, Kwara is on the verge of having a truly free, fair and credible election which had been missing in the history of elections in the State.

The EU Observer led by Gabor Basch and Mashu Poulsen while commending the conduct of the candidate and his supporters thus far, however used the opportunity to solicit the unflinching commitment of the candidate and his team towards ensuring violence free polls.

Basch expressed readiness of his team to monitor campaign activities, if the council availed with campaign schedule.

Appreciating the team for the courtesy visit, the Director of Media and Publicity of the campaign, Com. Abdulrasheed Akogun stated that APC is running a peaceful campaign with focus on house to house canvassing in order to reach out directly to the electorates, stressing that party has transformed to a mass movement in Kwara, as all have identified with the party's message of hope and liberation.

He said: ''APC is a mass movement in Kwara state, the manifesto of our party has been tagged *Street Blueprint/Working Document* because it is a product of NEEDS Assessment about societal challenges.

"Our manifesto is not an elitist compilation, it's a roadmap which will ensure a Kwara that works for all irrespective of societal status, religion, ethnicity is birthed.

Akogun charged EU Observers to beam their searchlight on Asa local government during the forthcoming polls in order to prevent electoral manipulations associated with election result turnouts from the council in the past.

Alhaji Yakub Ajanaku while welcoming the observers thanked them for their professionalism, impartiality and uprightness in performing their duty.

His words: ''APC is mass movement in Kwara state. The manifesto of our party has been tagged Street Blueprint/Working Document because it's product of NEEDS Assessment about societal challenges. Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq is not an elitists manifesto, it's a roadmap on how to make Kwara work for every kwaran irrespective of their status, religion, creed or location.''

He added that Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq campaign organization has been decentralised into three, one for each senatorial district to ensure free flow of information.
