Kwara Residents Allege Gov Ahmed Of Padding 2018 Budget

Some residents of Kwara state have alleged Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed of padding 2018 budget with inclusion of Gaa Akanbi to Agbabiaka road, Ilorin.

The residents said Kwara state government earmarked fund for rehabilitation of Gaa Akanbi-Agbabiaka road and did nothing on it throughout the 2018 fiscal year.

Recall that Governor Ahmed listed the road as one of projects at 'various stages of completion' while laying 2019 budget before Kwara State House of Assembly in December.

The spokesman of the residents, Abdulganiyu Nasiru insisted that nothing is ongoing on Agbabiaka road, not talk of completion.

Abdulganiyu expressed dissatisfaction with high level of deception, insensitivity and misappropriation of current administration in the state.

He stated that Governor Ahmed's administration is fond of completing projects on paper while kwarans are made to bear the pain of deplorable roads across the state despite paying huge taxes.

The residents also berated the state commissioner of Works, Alhaji Aro Yahaya for staging stakeholders meeting to cover the scam about the said road.

They therefore called on State House of Assembly to probe all ongoing projects including Airport to Egbejila road, Erin ile road, Ilorin and others.

Abdulganiyu challenged the state government to release details of Gaa Akanbi-Agbabiaka road, to justify their earlier claims.

Here are some of the road the Kwara State government claimed they have done...
