Kwara Rebirth Ambassadors Flag Off It Local Government Tour


Delegation of the Kwara Rebirth Ambassadors, a Non-governmental organization with the objective of youth mobilization for social and community development and structures across the sixteen (16) Local Governments of Kwara state commenced her Local Government tour, starting with Patigi. The team was led by the State Coordinator of the group, Amb. Abdulrasheed Akogun.


In his welcome address, Amb. Abubakar Suleiman, the Deputy Coordinator (North) expressed the joy of the Patigi Ambassadors to receive members of the Central Working Committee of the group and reiterate their commitment to the cause of effecting Rebirth and make Kwara work for Kwarans. Amb. Jimada who is the Patigi LG Coordinator also welcomed the CWC delegation and assured the group of readiness of Patigi LG youths to work tirelessly on the path of Rebirt, after which he presented the ten (10) ward Coordinators of the group in Patigi LG.


The Publicity Secretary of the group, Amb. Ibrahim Sheriff while introducing members of the delegation lamented the appalling state of infrastructure generally in Patigi which has placed restrictions on the prospect and prosperity of the community, noting that there is a nexus between infrastructural development and commercial activities in every community. He therefore urged the members to take their destinies into their hands by electing responsible representatives and leaders who can be held accountable for their actions and inactions.

In his address, the state Coordinator of the group, Amb. Abdulrasheed Akogun decried the level of neglect of the area, stating that if rural urban migration must be discouraged, then development must not be skewed to some part of the state, leaving others underdeveloped.

Speaking further, Amb. Abdulrasheed admonished all the members to get themselves ready to put Kwara on the path of greatness through civic responsibility and community development efforts, he urged members of the group to further our PVC collection outreach to nooks and crannies of Patigi Local Government and vote a candidates with integrity, competence and compassion come 2019, noting that the votes sold and the apathy displayed in the last elections kept us where we are today.


After the meeting, the group paid homage to His Royal Highness, the Emir (Etsu) of Patigi, who blessed the youths and wished them all the  best.


Kwara Rebirth team thereafter visited public utilities in the community, among which are the Government Technical College, Patigi, the General Hospital, Patigi and major roads in the community among others, which are all suffering from chronic decadence and the hospital short of manpower.
